On June 2,
a reception was held at the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the
Russian Federation in honor of International Children's Day. Children of
different ages from the Russian and Chinese sides, their parents, as well as
employees of the State Darwin Museum, Alexandra Selezneva and Elena Baranova,
were invited to the holiday.
Chinese Ambassador to the Russian Federation Zhang Hanhui delivered a welcoming speech and congratulated the younger generation on the holiday. He drew attention to the fact that the friendship between the younger generation of China and Russia has great development potential, and the older generation will do everything to provide children with a decent future, peace and tranquility. Attention was also drawn to the contribution of study to education, as well as the importance of educating a generation.
Following his Chinese colleague, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Andrei Rudenko spoke. The diplomat also congratulated the young guests on the holiday with the hope that in the future they will continue to strengthen the friendship between Russia and China.
The festive concert was opened by a Chinese children's choir, performing the song "May there always be sunshine." Pupils of a boarding school under the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation performed a Russian dance, and students of the School of Circus Arts named after Yu. V. Nikulin presented an acrobatic performance. The program included poetic and gymnastic numbers demonstrating the skills of young artists of different nationalities.
During the holiday, guests could get to know Chinese culture better and have fun by taking part in master classes on calligraphy, Chinese painting, woodcuts, and paper cuttings. In between entertainment and chatting with each other, children and adults tried both traditional Chinese dishes and sweet treats. Each child received both a gift from the Embassy staff and memorable souvenirs created with their own hands.
All this
created a friendly atmosphere: children from different countries had fun,
communicated and played with each other.
